He also appeared in musicals and films and, in his later years, was a presenter of television shows incorporating hymns and other devotional songs.

Terence Alan Milligan KBE (16 April 1918 – 27 February 2002), better known as Spike Milligan, was a comedian, writer, musician, poet, playwright, soldier and actor of Irish parentage and dual Irish and British nationality. He was the co-creator, main writer and a principal cast member of The Goon Show, performing a range of roles including the popular Eccles and Minnie Bannister characters.

Eric Sykes CBE (4 May 1923 – 4 July 2012) was an English radio, television and film writer, actor and director whose performing career spanned more than 50 years.
